Reece Ties for Medalist With 1-Over 73 at Park Hills

Sophomore Brayden Reece (Monmouth, Ill./Monmouth-Roseville) tied for medalist honors and the Carl Sandburg College men’s golf team placed second in an Arrowhead Conference meet hosted by Highland on Tuesday at Park Hills.
Reece closed with a 35 on the back nine to shoot a 1-over-par 73 to tie Black Hawk’s Rielly McGranahan for first individually. It marked Reece’s second round of 73 in as many meets.
The Chargers finished at 319 as a team, finishing 10 strokes behind first-place BHC. Brady Grafton (Orion, Ill./Orion) shot an 81, and brother Bryce Grafton (Orion, Ill./Orion) carded an 81. Grant Campbell (Earlville, Ill./Earlville) rounded out Sandburg’s total with an 85, and Matt Graves (Oneida, Ill./ROWVA) shot 96.
The Chargers will continue their Arrowhead season with a meet hosted by Illinois Valley at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Senica’s Oak Ridge in LaSalle.
